What is BAC-IN Creative Voices Group?

BAC-IN Creative Voices Group is a space, created for individuals seeking recovery from addiction and multiple disadvantage, to have a forum where  individuals can express themselves, their truths and their experiences, through mediums such as: poetry, art, drama, rap, creative writing, photography, spoken word, song, dance, general reading.

Being a part of this group gives individuals an opportunity to be part of a force of change in the community. This force is embodied by BAC-IN’s unique Transformative Recovery program, lived experience and faith centred peer led support.

Why we formed this group?

Our ultimate aim is to explore, develop and cultivate our creative talents, in order to meaningfully spread the message of recovery for the still suffering addicts and underserved communities. As we evolve through this participation, we become empowered, and through this trajectory, we are able to empower others.

Recent productions and performances

BAC-IN creative voices group was the opening act, giving a live performance at the Talent Match Youth Conference in Sheffield on 18th October 2018 with a rap song titled ‘Most High’.

Talent Match was a £108 million Big Lottery funded programme set up by the Big Lottery Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK. The five year initiative, launched in 2013, supported 'hidden youth' aged 18 to 24 who were neither receiving benefits nor engaged in employment, education or training and who needed extra support to find fulfilling employment.

The group’s second live performance was at the success-full BAC-IN Project Ahryzen Conference in December 2018 at the Trent Vineyard in Nottingham.

In 2019, a highly received live performance was at the Congregation of Yahweh Church in Nottingham.

The group had been working together since July 2018 and in October recorded its first official recovery rap at Take 1 studios in Nottingham.
